Here are details for the upcoming bond election. Voting will take place at Patrick Henry (and other polling places) on March 2nd from 7 AM – 7 PM.
The 2010 Bond will replace bonds that have been paid off; the end result will not raise property taxes. The total requested is $354, 000,000 for use within Tulsa Public Schools. Specifically, Patrick Henry will benefit from the following projects:
Facility Bond (Window Replacement, Energy Management and Security System upgrades) $513,800
Library Bond (Books, Technology/Audio Visual) $89,280
Classroom Bond (Textbooks, Physical Education Equipment, Technology, Furniture) $266,098
Grand Total for Patrick Henry $869,178
This bond is part of a 20-year commitment to Tulsa’s school children begun in 1995. Patrick Henry has already received $2,423,963.22 in bond money since the inception of the program. The bonding process will continue, and by the end of the cycle Patrick Henry will receive additional funds, including the construction of classrooms to enlarge our student capacity.
As a public school employee I cannot advocate for or against the bond, but I can provide facts on the election and encourage every voter to exercise the right to vote. Please contact me should you have any other questions about the upcoming bond election.

There’s a four day weekend this weekend. My kids told me that didn’t have school tomorrow so I had to double check. Sure enough tomorrow is a teacher’s professional day then Monday is President’s day.
So, no school tomorrow (2/12/10) or Monday (2/15/10).

Dear Patrick Henry Families,
The H1N1 Vaccination Clinic at Patrick Henry will be held Wednesday, January 27, from 9:00 until 12:00. Attached you will find two consent forms and information on the injection and intranasal spray. Both consent forms must be fully completed. The Social Security number is not required. Please return the forms to the Patrick Henry Clinic by Monday morning, January 25.
The Health Department will offer live intranasal spray to persons aged 2 to 49. Those with chronic health conditions such as asthma, heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, cancer, etc. will be given an injection.
The Health Department will not restrain any children. If your child is uncooperative, the Health Department will not administer any vaccine. If you feel that your child will need support, you may accompany them to the clinic.

If figure that if only one out of my three children managed to bring this important document home, then probably many more children forgot to bring theirs home as well.
Sorry I don’t work in the school office, and don’t visit the school very often since I have a full-time job. If I was given these documents a head of time I would add them to the website for people to download.

Remember you do not need to add the SSN to the document.

According to the TPS website, TPS twitter page, and TPS facebook, schools will be closed January 7th – 8th due to low temperatures.
TPS is closing school Jan 7-8 due to extreme cold. “We are very concerned about the safety of our students who walk to school or who wait outside for buses,” said TPS Superintendent Dr. Keith Ballard. “We’ve had a number of principals express concerns that their children don’t have adequate outerwear for such extreme temperatures.” The Education Service Center will remain open.

Here’s a few things. I got the PH shirt order form from my kids today. I went up to work to make a scan and to create the pdf. I figure if you’re like me, my kids never give me the stuff from school.
